    ISS assists individuals with developmental disabilities to live independently in their homes and communities in Ashland. Assistance is provided with all aspects of daily living skills and varies depending on the needs of each individual served. Hours available Monday - Friday on second and third shift as well as all shifts on weekends.


    Experience working with developmental disabilities is not required, however, DSP applicants must:
    - have a caring, positive attitude
    -
    be 18 years of age or older
    - have a high school diploma/GED
    - pass random drug screens

    Responsibilities of the DSP include:
    - Maintain quality of care and provide personal supports to individuals as outlined in each individual service plan;
    - Assist with community activities including shopping, banking, and recreation;
    - Supervise and record the administration of medications; and
    - Facilitate transportation to appointments and community activities.

ISS was formed to provide support care to individuals with developmental disabilities. The basic philosophy continues today, providing care to individuals that allow each to maintain their dignity and personal respect as a human being.

ISS has always been an innovator in the field of developmental disabilities. This innovation includes utilizing the internet communication tool as a valued part of the administration of this organization and using innovative ways to deal with change. Dealing with change includes collaboration with other providers and county boards to assist with the new medication administration training rule, assisting county boards to provide emergency respite services, supported employment service provision, and collaboration working with county boards to provide positive service coordination.
